Teaching Objectives:   1.Knowledge aim: 1. To make the students know some key words and expressions about basketball and some very famous players. 2. To get Ss to talk about the popularity of NBA. 2.Ability aims: 1. Enable students to have a good understanding of sports personalities and spirits 2. Enable students to use some key words and some expressions correctly. 3. Develop students’ reading ability. 3.Emotinal aim: To make the students know hard working can make a person successful.   Key Points and Difficult Points Key points: 1. To get Ss to learn some words and phrases to describe a well-known basketball player. 2. Know about Jordan and chamberlain. What does he do?2.Do you like basketball?  Today we will learn Module one Basketball. Answer:1. He is Jordan, he played basketball. 2. Yes.   To guide into module one       Step 2: Revision …     Show some words about basketball such as hoop, court, forward, referee, guard, slam dunk, blackboard, league , backcourt , goal, centre ,ball control, dream team, professional       If they know the meaning of each word, they will speak loudly.     Check whether Ss master the words that learnt last period or not. Step 3: Presentation … 1.Show some pictures about basketball players, and ask Ss to answer the following questions:  1).Who is your favorite basketball player ? 2).Can you introduce him to us? 2.Since we have looked at many famous players, today we will learn two best players of them. Do you know who they are? 1.Ss will introduce their favorite player ,such as : Jordan, James, Wallace, Weide, Yao Ming…… 2. answer:  Jordan, James…… 1.To practice their speaking ability, let them use their own words to introduce a player. 2.
