  一、教學(xué)內(nèi)容分析:

  在本單元的warming-up學(xué)習(xí)中學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)了世界英語(yǔ)的分支,已經(jīng)在不同國(guó)家應(yīng)用時(shí)候的差異。Reading部分"The Road to Modern English"通過(guò)對(duì)英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的發(fā)展歷史這一話題的探討,加強(qiáng)學(xué)生對(duì)英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的了解,特別是對(duì)英語(yǔ)發(fā)展趨勢(shì)的了解。通過(guò)本課的學(xué)習(xí)要讓學(xué)生了解英國(guó)英語(yǔ)、美國(guó)英語(yǔ)、澳大利亞英語(yǔ)、印度英語(yǔ)、新加坡英語(yǔ)等都有自己的慣用法和不同的發(fā)音規(guī)律。在完成本節(jié)課的學(xué)習(xí)后,學(xué)生能感受到英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言的多層次和多元化,有助于培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的跨文化意識(shí)。

  二、學(xué)情分析

  我所帶的學(xué)生,英語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)好的不多。大多數(shù)學(xué)生沒(méi)有興趣也沒(méi)有耐心閱讀完整篇文章更不要說(shuō)掌握文意了。所以往往出現(xiàn)老師自問(wèn)自答唱獨(dú)角戲的情況。為了照顧所有學(xué)生,讓每位學(xué)生都參與教學(xué)活動(dòng)。在開(kāi)展教研活動(dòng)時(shí),我們教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的教研組長(zhǎng)提出了這個(gè)因材施教的任務(wù)教學(xué)方法。效果頗好。在這一過(guò)程中,即使有些學(xué)生在前面的fast-reading中對(duì)課文認(rèn)識(shí)不夠,但經(jīng)過(guò)后面的這一活動(dòng),絕大多數(shù)學(xué)生都能很好的理解課文。

  三、教學(xué)目標(biāo)

  1. Language goals

 。2)Ss will be able to know the development of English and feel the role that culture plays in thechange of language.

  (4)Ss will be able to know how to get the key sentence of a paragraph.

  ( 1) To be able to get the main idea from the text.

  (2.) To be able to solve the problem by analyzing.

  (3) To be able to use the different learning strategies for different reading purposes.

  五、教學(xué)方法:

  1、任務(wù)型語(yǔ)言教學(xué)法。

  在本課教學(xué)中,我將依據(jù)課程的總體目標(biāo)并結(jié)合教學(xué)內(nèi)容,創(chuàng)造性地設(shè)計(jì)貼近學(xué)生實(shí)際的任務(wù)活動(dòng),吸引和組織他們積極參與,使學(xué)生通過(guò)思考、討論、交流和合作等方式,在一種自然、真實(shí)或模擬真實(shí)的情境中體會(huì)語(yǔ)言、掌握語(yǔ)言的應(yīng)用。

  2、啟發(fā)式教學(xué)法。創(chuàng)設(shè)情景,引入主題,配合小組討論交流,采用啟發(fā)式教學(xué)啟發(fā)學(xué)生主動(dòng)學(xué)習(xí)。

  六、教學(xué)過(guò)程

  Step 1 Greeting

  Greet the students as usual.

  Step 2 Revision and lead-in

  (show the pictures:a football, an eraser, a flat and a lift on the screen.)

  T: What’s this? ( Point to the football.)

  S: It’s a football.

  T: Yes. An Englishman usually calls it a football. But what do Americans usually call it?

  S: a soccer.

  T: What about this one? ( Point to the eraser.)…

  T: Well, as we know, there is more than one kind of English in the word. They are different from one another in some ways. Why has English changed over time? What will world English be in the future? Do you know? Well, today, the passage “The Road To Modern English” will tell us. Now please open your books and turn to page 9.

  Step 3 Careful reading

  1. Let the students read the passage carefully and then make a time line of the development of English.

  2. Let the students read the passage again and fill in the blanks with the words from the text.

  It is not easy for a Chinese person to speak English as ___ as a ___ English speaker. One reason is that English has a large ___. It also has different usage in different English speaking countries. If you use “flat” instead of “___”, people in America will know you have learned British English. If you use the word “___”instead of “l(fā)ift” in Britain, people will know you have studied American English.

  Step 4 Practice

  Retell the history of English and tell the differences of ancient English and modern English, British English and American English.

  Step 5 Group work

  1. Go over the text and try to learn all the useful words and expressions in this part by heart.

  2. Write a passage about your English learning.
