Cascading failures in local-world evolving networks
Abstract:The local-world (LW) evolving network model shows a transition for the degree distribution between the exponential and power-law distributions, depending on the LW size. Cascading failures under intentional attacks in LW network models with different LW sizes were investigated using the cascading failures load model. We found that the LW size has a significant impact on the networks robustness against deliberate attacks. It is much easier to trigger cascading failures in LW evolving networks with a larger LW size. Therefore, to avoid cascading failures in real networks with local preferential attachment such as the Internet, the World Trade Web and the multi-agent system, the LW size should be as small as possible. 作者: Author: Zhe-jing BAO[1] Yi-jia CAO[2] 作者單位: School of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, ChinaSchool of Electrical Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou 310027, China;College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hunan University, Changsha 410082, China 期 刊: 浙大學報(英文版)(A輯:應用物理和工程) ISTICEISCI Journal: JOURNAL OF ZHEJIANG UNIVERSITY SCIENCE A 年,卷(期): 2008, 9(10) 分類號: N94 TP393 Keywords: Complex network Local world (LW) Cascading failures Power-law Attack 機標分類號: TP3 TQ 機標關鍵詞: degree distribution network model 基金項目: 國家重點基礎研究發(fā)展計劃(973計劃),國家自然科學基金,中國博士后科學基金 Cascading failures in local-world evolving networks[期刊論文] 浙大學報(英文版)(A輯:應用物理和工程) --2008, 9(10)The local-world (LW) evolving network model shows a transition for the degree distribution between the exponential and power-law distributions, depending on the LW size.
