胡里奧·依格萊希亞斯1943年9月23日出生于西班牙馬德里。其父為當?shù)孛t(yī)，母親出身名門，因而，家資殷富。早年曾有志于當外交官，17歲時，胡里奧·依格萊希亞斯進英國劍橋大學(xué)攻讀法律，并取得律師資格。此后，又加入西班牙著名的“皇馬”俱樂部足球隊，成為該隊活躍的守門員。由于他出色的球藝和超群的彈跳力，而被稱為“美洲豹”。然而，在他20歲時，卻意外地遭受了沉重的打擊：因車禍而負重傷。面對莫測的未來和傷痛的折磨，他在孤獨中終于找到了他最好的解脫——音樂，同時也找到了他終生的摯友——吉它。整整三年，椅上的胡里奧.依格萊希亞斯意外地發(fā)現(xiàn)了自己的歌唱藝術(shù)才華而重新開辟了自己的人生道路。
